Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
Editing, signing, page organisation and conversion run entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded. Only OCR and Compress briefly send the file to the server, where it is processed in a temporary folder and deleted immediately. Nothing is stored.
Can I edit a scanned PDF for free?
Yes. Scanned pages are recognised automatically in your browser the moment you open the PDF, so you can select, copy and edit the text straight away. For a permanent searchable text layer in the saved file, run the free Advanced OCR.
How do I compress a PDF for free?
Open your PDF in PDF Studio and press Compress. The optimised file downloads automatically — free, with no watermark or account needed.
Can I convert PDF to images or merge PDFs?
Yes. Export all pages, one page or a custom range as PNG or JPG images, turn images into a PDF, and combine multiple PDFs into a single document — all free in the browser.
Can I password protect a PDF or remove a PDF password for free?
Yes. Use Protect to encrypt your PDF with AES-256 and a password of your choice, or Unlock to remove the password from a PDF you own (you need its current password). Both are free; the file is processed on the server and deleted immediately.
